Fast Company Article and 21st Century Skills
I am a huge fan of Fast Company magazine. Today I read an article that deeply impacted me because it shows why we need 21st Century skills. As you read it, think about these two questions:
1. What 21st Century skills were utilized by Jet Blue employees?
2. Is there a simulation that we can create for a math class like the simulation that JetBlue used?
Here is the link. Enjoy.

The Complacent Student
What do you do with a student that just does not care? I have a lot of them. I think that the deeper question is how did they get this way?
I have a student teacher who I am encouraging to try new things. Today we tried “Who wants to be a Millionaire” while we reviewed for a Geometry test. The students that cared interacted and understood. The students that did not care and therefore did not interact, did not understand.
I have a good relationship with most of my students. Some really have some deeper issues that are far beyond what I can help them with. All I can do is encourage them. But how much encouragement is too much?
Any strategies for success that you have come across?
Why WordPress?
So I had a blog at BlogSpot I think. Two years ago. Nothing wrong with it, I just like some of the topics that some of the teachers write about on WordPress.
I am in a stage in my life in which some new things need to happen. Not necessarily better things. Just things to keep me thinking and processing about the world we live in.
Topics will include education, technology, how to teach, math, curriculum development, motivating students, and relationships.
I love technology. I even have a Masters in it. But when it comes to staying consistent with a blog, we shall see.
